A New Beginning
In the spring of 2023, Starnley’s life had hit a breaking point. For years, he'd been trapped in a cycle of bad decisions, addiction, and self-doubt. Every attempt to turn things around had ended in failure, leaving him feeling more isolated and defeated than ever. But deep down, he knew he couldn’t keep going down the same path. That’s when he found The Other Side Ministry.
He’d heard whispers about the group from people who had once been lost but were now finding their way. Starnley wasn’t sure what to expect, but he knew he had nothing left to lose. As he shared his story in weekly sessions, something shifted within him. It wasn’t just the therapy or the guidance—it was the simple act of being heard.
Over time, Starnley began setting small, manageable goals. He found strength in the ministry’s community and discovered that helping others healed parts of himself he didn’t know were broken. By the end of 2023, Starnley wasn’t the same man who had walked into the ministry months ago.
Today, Starnley serves in the Outreach Hope Church under the leadership of Rev. Easter Allan and Pastor Millicent Allan, who have guided him spiritually. He continues to build trust with himself and others, knowing the road to recovery isn’t linear but filled with hope.
